Soylent’s mission is to make complete, sustainable nutrition accessible, appealing, and affordable to all. In recognition of Nutrition Month, we have donated more than 200,000 bottles of product to Second Harvest - Canada’s largest food rescue organization.
If you have been following our company over the last year, you know that we have prioritized helping those in need during the pandemic and I wanted to let you know we haven’t stopped. As someone who lived in Toronto for many years, I am thrilled to be able to work with such an incredible organization in my old hometown.
Second Harvest is the largest food rescue organization in Canada and they provide food to hundreds of social service agencies across Canada including food banks, meal programs, children’s programs, community centres, women’s shelters and more. We are honoured to partner with them and ensure that our products get into the hands of people who need them most. I wanted to share the below quote with you directly from the Second Harvest Team.
“In the colder months, it is harder to get nutritious food as quickly as possible to Canadians, and this contribution allows our agencies’ clients to get what they need on the go – up to 20% of the recommended daily intake of minerals and vitamins. Thank you for your support, Soylent!” - Second Harvest Team Member, Crystal Ceres
We believe that everyone deserves access to proper nutrition, and this is just one way we live our values in ensuring food accessibility in Canada. We know our products are a great option for many people who are experiencing tough times. We provide better-for-you, plant-based complete nutrition in a format that doesn’t have to be kept cold or prepared, which is a barrier for some folks without full kitchens or access to refrigeration. We are committed to continuing to make our products available to people who need them.
As someone who has worked in the food industry for many years, I can easily say that I have been happy that companies of all sizes have increased their donations over the last year. It is great to see our industry stepping up in times of need. I am very proud of Soylent’s employees, board and investors who could not be more dedicated to doing whatever it takes to end hunger and bring nutrition to all.
Since the inception of our Soylent For Good programs, 4,824,931 meals to hunger relief partners.
Lastly, I want to acknowledge our consumers - we could not do what we do without you. Thank you!
Keep choosing Soylent’s products and we will keep doing our part. Together we can continue to have a positive impact on our community and the world!
